This is nothing new and I am certainly not the first to pass comment on this, but I have just listened to a new album the whole way through – from the first note to the last – in the order that the artist wanted me to.  I enjoyed it so much that over the course of the next few days I listened to it again  . . . and again  . . . and again . . . to the point where I knew which track was coming up next, whether it was a particular favourite (and if it wasn’t, I listened nonetheless) and every time I played the album, I enjoyed the music more.   Give it a go  –  it’s how we listened to music in the olden days 🙂 x

My ship sailed some time ago and unless I am much mistaken, I am of absolutely no interest whatsoever to the music industry.  I do what I do because I can’t not do it.    And I would happily continue doing it in the knowledge that no-one was ever going to hear another note.  But the pleasure I get from listening back to a newly finished song is immeasurable and I immediately want to share it with the world – not as a validation of what I do, but in the hope that other people might also enjoy listening to it.

I have no marketing plan, no scheduled release dates, no carefully considered track list and no starry eyed illusions.   If I have a definable style, I’ve yet to find out what it is.   I simply write and play what I feel and straight away release it – the  original ‘publish and be damned’.

But I am an optimist and a dreamer, and maybe – just maybe – something I do will fall on the ears of someone who really can ‘do something with it’  and who knows then where the magic might end?

And that person could be someone like you  🙂  x
