Three years ago I wrote and recorded this song – inspired by the announcement that Sir Ben Ainslie, with the backing of INEOS and the Royal Yacht Squadron, would be mounting a challenge for the 36th America’s Cup, to be held in Auckland in early 2021.
Time has flown by and tomorrow (15th January 2021), Sir Ben and Team Ineos UK will line up for their first race in the Prada Cup, in an attempt to do what no British sailing team has done in the 170 year history of the cup – win back a trophy that was surrendered at its inception in 1851.
